Pregnant Nicole Kidman - Drinking at the Oscars

Theres been quite a buzz about a report by columnist Cindy Adams that Nicole Kidman was drinking backstage at the Oscars.

I really don't think this report is accurate but, personally, if Nicole Kidman wants to have a glass of wine here and there I say go for it! It's definitely not recommended to go around binge drinking like an 18 year old but if you feel like an occasional drink here and there (1 glass a week) it is fine and there has been nothing proven to say that its not. See this link and here for more info.

Saying that "if you drink or have drunk any alcohol you will harm your baby," causes uneccesary stress upon the mother. Stress is more problematic towards a pregnancy then having a an occasional drink! I remember a similar outrage when Princess Mary had a glass of champagne during her pregnancy.

During my pregnancy, I stuck to the food guidelines strictly and allowed myself a a glass of light beer once a week in the later trimesters of my pregnancy (believe it or not, it was a pregnancy craving!) and my little champ is perfect!

I feel so sorry for all the celeb "mums to be" that get so closely scrutinised. Its hard enough being pregnant or a mum but to be judged for every parenting move made, on a worldwide scale, would truely be nightmare material!

Cheapest and Best Baby Supplies

Forget the usual spots for kids toys there is one shop I always go to first for baby gear. Everyone is always shocked when I tell them "Toys R Us" They sell baby stuff? - Is the usual response. To which I reply, half of the store is baby stuff! I wonder why its not a well known fact? Oh well, more bargains for me!

They always have ridiculous sales (I bought a stroller that was reduced from $300 down to $89!) and sell everything from dummies all the way to nursery furniture. Well there's my little secret spilled. Get your self a baby bargain!

Lightspeed Panel Rules!!

Ok this is not a plug or anything as I don't benefit from this post in any way...but the title says it all! It rules for me anyway, being a SAHM it's nice to get a bit of pocket money for practical things such as fuel or like me, little luxuries of new clothes, jewellry and what ever else your heart desires!

I've been with Lightspeed panel for a little over a week and I've got around $30 in my paypal account for doing surveys! It's not like I'm on there for hours or anything they take around 5-25 minutes depending on the survey! I don't have a direct link on here because there are many different sites for particular countries. Just google Lightspeed Panel and you'll find it no probs!

How to be Domestic Goddess

Photobucket

Well being a domestic goddess is a nice concept but in reality its just too much of a task for some including me! To clean every nook and cranny, cook and attend to every need of a baby and a big kid (my husband) while looking fabulous is down right exhausting!

I found a site called Fly Lady that sets outs step by step routines and helps you to organise and get things done. Its a bit extreme but some of us out there need extreme to give us a kick start.

Stress = Sickness??

Photobucket

I've heard that they say that being stressed makes you sick but this is ridiculous!

I've been under more stress and pressure than normal lately then out of nowhere...wham! I'm hit with sore throat (not just any sore throat but daggers slicing with every swallow, sore throat) a cold, cold sores, school sores and conjunctivits all within 2 weeks! I haven't had any form of sickness in over 7 months! Well I thought this was incredible (not in a good way) so instead of feeling sorry for myself I went and did a little research and there are sites and studies everywhere talking about this phenomenon!
Here's one good example that says that under stress your body releases a particular hormone that affects your immunity.

Well from now we should all be insisting on relaxing holidays every weekend, shopping therapy, extended sleep ins and days off work...its for our own good!

Paid Posting?

Well I stumbled across this site:
...while doing my daily google crawl! Its a site that says it will pay you for posting your views on certain things on your blog. Well that definitely sounds up my alley, being paid to blab on about anything and everything. What more could I want! Stay tuned for more info about if this site really does what it claims! As the late Big Kev would say..."I'm excited!" May he rest in peace.

Photobucket

Its official! I love wearing my baby! It just makes life so much easier! Sure I get lots of inquiring and weird looks but I really don't care because little man is happy and gosh darn it, so am I! Well in case your wondering babywearing is popping your baby in a sling, carrier or wrap and strapping the little angel to you and guess what! you're hands free! What more could you ask for when you need to get things done! Celebs are starting to get in on the act too and it seems to be becoming a bit of a fashion statement! That is great if it can get the word out there of the benefits of babywearing!

Photobucket

I've had so many people in shopping centres and when I'm out about , asking about what that thing is, that bub is in and I'm always happy to give a speel about the postive affects of wearing your baby and bonding! Gone are the days of lugging your little potato around in an uncomfy boring baby bjorn because there are so many cooler, comfier options out there. Try it you won't be sorry! If you have a baby that is! For more info visit a wonderful site called The Babywearer I'm sure to post more info on the subject later cos I love it so much!
